KREWE OF CORK ANNOUNCES
QUEEN 2013 - GAIL CAVETT
GRAND MARSHALS 2013
JEAN-CHARLES BOISSET and GINA GALLO-BOISSET
The Krewe of Cork is thrilled to announce Jean-Charles Boisset’s appointment as Grand Marshal of its 2013 MardiGras festivities. Jean-Charles’s wife, Gina Gallo-Boisset, will also attend the celebration in January.
Proprietor of Boisset Family Estates, Jean-Charles Boisset is an unparalleled leader in the wine world. With over 20 wineries in leading terroirs around the globe—including Burgundy, Beaujolais, Rhône Valley, Canada, and in California, including DeLoach Vineyards in the Russian River Valley, Buena Vista Winery and Lyeth Estate in Sonoma County, Raymond Vineyards in the Napa Valley, and Lockwood Vineyard in Monterey—Jean-Charles Boisset’s wineries are a force to be reckoned with. His passion for fine wine has led to innumerable accolades for each of his wineries, and his love of wine and history is best exemplified by his historic restoration of California’s first premium winery – Buena Vista. His drive for innovation has resulted in sustainable, organic, and Biodynamic® farming practices, environmentally-friendly wine packaging, and even a dog-friendly winery. A tour-de-force with a larger than life personality, Jean-Charles has also made numerous TV appearances.
“After I met him 15 years ago, I've been hoping that Jean-Charles would join the Krewe of Cork as our Grand Marshal. I'm finally lucky and my dream came true...it's our 13th anniversary in 2013, and we scored the Rock Star of the wine world to honor us as Grand Marshal as we celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Lucky 13!” says Patrick van Hoorebeek, King of the Krewe of Cork. “And the icing on the cake is having his wonderful wife Gina Gallo-Boisset join in the fun...who knows how much bubbly we'll drink in her honor?”
